ENVIRANT COST Action – 3rd Management Committee & Stakeholder Meeting (8th and 9th September 2026, Madrid, Spain)

On 8 September 2026, members of the ENVIRANT COST Action (CA23154) will meet in Madrid, Spain, for a day focused on strengthening collaboration and advancing knowledge on the environmental impact of veterinary anthelmintics.
Stakeholder Meeting: Environmental Gaps in Anthelmintic Regulation
09:00–13:30
The morning stakeholder meeting will bring together experts, policymakers, researchers, regulators and other stakeholders to discuss key challenges related to the environmental regulation of anthelmintics.
The discussions will focus on:
- Environmental monitoring gaps
- Environmental Quality Standards (EQS)
- Limitations of Environmental Risk Assessment (ERA)
- Alignment between pharmaceutical and environmental legislation
- Environmental residues and anthelmintic resistance
By bringing together expertise from different sectors, the meeting aims to identify priority areas for future research and support the development of evidence-based policies to better address the environmental risks associated with veterinary anthelmintics across Europe.
3rd Management Committee Meeting
15:00–17:30
In the afternoon, the ENVIRANT Management Committee will hold its 3rd meeting. Members will review the progress of the COST Action, discuss ongoing activities within the Working Groups, and coordinate the next steps towards achieving the objectives of COST Action CA23154.

Through this meeting, ENVIRANT continues to strengthen a multidisciplinary European network dedicated to understanding, monitoring and reducing the environmental impact of anthelmintic use.
Together, we are building the knowledge and collaboration needed for more sustainable parasite control and better protection of the environment across Europe.
